Custom Installation...
What is Home Cinema Custom Installation?

Home Cinema is all about transforming your experience of  Films and Music in the home, making it more enjoyable, but also  blending it in with your life style needs.  It usually means upscaling your existing TV and HiFi experience and embracing multi-channel surround sound and a larger screen, for example a Plasma/LCD TV or Projection Screen

In order to make this move from  the simple Nicam TV/VCR system  the first step is  to feed the sound from a DVD player into a specialised A/V amplifier or processor and  then to a minimum of four speakers placed around your room. The  next  step is to consider a larger screen to enjoy films on a larger scale.

To get the very best of this experience we recommend a custom installation and a consultation with us to achieve the design set up and appropriate equipment.  However,  if your budget won’t stretch to  this you can still  appreciate the quality and performance of a  purpose designed audio/visual system  compared to a  TV based  system. We can carefully match your desires to your budget and living environment and optimise your enjoyment of film and music in your home.

Custom installation is the process by which all of your electronic equipment can be integrated into one coherent system. This may include lighting, heating, audio, video and information technology. It may be that the system becomes a feature of the design of your home, or an invisible function – you decide. Custom Installation is usually considered when a decision is made to blend Entertainment electronics (Home Cinema, DVD, CD & Speakers etc.) with the décor, so it all becomes more discrete, without losing quality and accessibility.

That is where Kent Home Cinema comes in. We can recommend ways in which entertainment systems can be integrated into the household and concealed where necessary to minimise their intrusion. We can also automate the system so that a touch-screen remote can operate the audio, video, lighting and even the curtains in a single sequence.

Take home cinema as an example, one remote control that does everything, using a simple often-graphical menu. You want to watch a movie on DVD, so press DVD. Pushing one button turns on the TV or projector, lowers the viewing screen, switches the surround sound system on, and starts the DVD playing. In a more complex environment we can even integrate the system to dim your lights and draw the curtains. A complete system that remains simple and user- friendly. Kent Home Cinema can offer you solutions that are only dependent on the limitations of your imagination and of course your budget!

Here’s the process:

Consultation
The process starts with a meeting on site. A systems designer will listen to the client’s requirements, suggesting options and alternatives.
From this we build an accurate description of what function the system has to perform.
The designer will then submit a proposal, usually with a number of different options.
This process may often be repeated several times to find the optimal solution.
First Fix
Once the proposal has been accepted, we produce a detailed cabling schedule and marked up plans so we can organise Installation Technicians to start to run all of the relevant cabling including sockets, speaker plates and any wall chasing that may be required. All your furniture in the local area will be covered with plastic sheeting and your floors will be covered with dustsheets. Any carpets that may need to be lifted, will be rolled and stored carefully out of the way until the first fix work is complete. The Installation Technicians are fully qualified and insured to lift and replace floorboards and carpets for seamless integration. We plaster finish any wall chasings and if you have any paint left over from your last decoration we will even paint match to finish.
Second Fix
The next stage of the installation is to install all of your component parts; these are any items that are fixed to the floors, walls & ceilings. This usually involves any wall plates, keypads, sensors or brackets and any In-wall / in-ceiling speakers.
Final fit / Programming
When the install area is decorated, clean and ready, the installation technicians will install, configure and programme all of the final electronics to meet your needs and aspirations.
Commissioning
On the final visit to sign off the project, any teething problems with the system will be investigated. Training on the system and any remote control will be given at this point along with an after-care reference number and a 24 hour technical help line and callout phone number should you have any problems.
After That?
The service doesn’t stop there - all systems and installations are guaranteed (Parts and Labour) for one year. We are only a telephone call away to solve any problems or discuss options for your system expansion or upgrade.
